“Scrapbooking isn't about scraps of paper and photos. Scrapbooking is about scraps of life - yours and those special to you.” ~Rebecca Sower
The idea for Seriously Scrapbooking came into being in February 2006 after teaching at two scrapbooking shops as well as from home. One of the main reasons behind starting a business was to employ our daughter who has Down’s syndrome as finding work for young people with disabilities is quite a challenge. Why not combine a need with a love!! The next step was to find a shop in the right location with lots of parking. The location we chose was easy to find with our first shop being in the Pasadena shopping centre mall. (Where I have shopped for the past 20 years) Our shop was previously a fruit and veg shop and needed quite a bit of work to get it ready. We had to remove a cool room, a brick wall then built a front to the shop, an office as well as having to clean years of vegie splats from the walls and the ceiling. We renewed the lighting and added a back door with a window for the view. A new paint job & our shop opened in September 2006 - we have not looked back!
In 2008 we moved to a bigger store, doubling the size of the old one. We are just down the road at 501 Goodwood Road. Our new store is in an old picture theatre. The stage is above our workroom ceiling. The architecture is still intact although unseen. Again a lot of work has gone into our new Store.
The new store has the same warm and friendly atmosphere like the old one though a lot bigger. We even have an expresso machine and our customers tell us that we make lovely coffee. The work/class room is right near the counter which is popular with our customers. You can attend a class then come back later and finish the project if you need to on the days when our workroom is free. You can book into our workroom and do scrapbooking in our store, whenever it is not being used for classes.
We love the art of inking and carry Tim Holtz’s distress ink pads, papers, distress powders and alcohol inks. We also run regular classes using Tim’s products as a basis. I have been a big fan of Tim’s since I attended classes with him.
Our store carries lines from many of the big companies from around the world. We recieve boxes of new product every week. We are adding items all the time. We currently stock over 2000 print papers along with 450 different coloured Bazzill, Doublemate, Colour Sense, and Bazzill Blings. It’s the place to shop for paper. New and old customers frequently say we have the best range of papers around, so you will be sure to find the right paper for any project, and if not we can order something special in for you.
We have 100's of rolls of Ribbon and 100's of jars of embelishments, which you can buy in any quanty you need from 1 to 100!
We also carry a good range of stamps from Stamp-it, Hampton Art, Inkadinkadoo, Limited Editions, Tim Holts, Stylish Images and more. This is one area that will continue to grow as we find more stamps we like.
If we don't have want you need, then we are happy to try and get it for you. Please understand that this is not always possible due to items being out of stock at the wholesale level, but we do try our best.
Our motto is to, “treat others as you would like to be treated yourself.”
Teachers
Jane Tregenza: Owner/Teacher/Wife/Mother.
I have five children, ranging from 15 to 26 years of age. This means I have lots of photos to scrapbook (although I’m sad to say I don’t have any lovely close-ups of baby feet and hands). I have been teaching and selling a wide range of crafts over the years, even supplying David Jones Australia wide at one stage. I came across scrapbooking 2004 after walking into a scrapbook store looking for ideas for an album for my oldest daughter who was turning 21. After having a free beginner’s class and deciding I could do better, I had a go at some pages and was asked to teach. It all went from there. I love to scrapbook and teach. It is so much fun to share each others experiences, but also a privilege as I get to share in lots of peoples lives, hear about the highs and special moments, and also sometimes the sadder times. Jane is on the Graphic 45 Design Team for 2010.
Steph Devlin: Teacher
Steph has been in the scrapbooking industry for nearly 7 years now. Her background as an interior designer, led her to scrapbooking where she could apply her design skills and love of colour but on a personal level. Steph was contracted to For Keeps Creative Scrapbooking Magazine on their Design Team for two years and was then asked to be on their Elite Team for 2006. This gave Steph the opportunity to co-author a book called "Traditions" and put out a calendar. Since then she has freelanced teaching and designing for various scrapbooking affiliates. Steph designs for Aussie Scrap Source as part of their design team and writes articles for For Keeps, Scrapbooking Memories and Scrapbook Creations. She has been published extensively in all these magazines. Steph is a mum to Madison and Emma and wife to her hubby Mark. Steph enjoy's teaching at Seriously Scrapbooking where she can share her passion for hybrid and paper scrapbooking with you. Steph is on the Websters Design Team for 2010.
Natalie May: Teacher & staff member
My name is Natalie May. I am a 35 year old mum to 7 year old Jessica, a wife to a very supportive hubby! I have been a card maker for about 8 years and discovered Scrapbooking a year or two ago. It’s such a brilliant creative outlet, with no restrictions as to what you can do and VERY addictive! My family is my main inspiration obviously, but I love scrapping any photos. If I like the photo, I’ll scrap it! I love making mini albums and “Off the Page” projects. I don’t believe I have quite found my style yet, I still love to experiment and try new things but most of my LO’s are quite bright, funky, unorganized and casual. My theory is “ If it looks good – Stick it down!” I am a totally product junkie, we really do get spoiled for choice in this industry. I love all the new products on the market and I’m constantly on the web checking out what’s about to come out and looking at the latest trends! Nat is on the Scrapware Design Team for 2010
Kathy Lang: Teacher & staff member
Kathy has a passion for making memorable and personable cards which has made her well known through out Adelaide. Kathy has taught card making and scrapbooking for many years and has a strong following from Victor Harbor to Pasadena and all the way out to Port Adelaide. Kathy’s particular expertise is in stamping and antiquing using specialist products such as Tim Holtz Distressing inks and unique embellishments such as the clockworks time pieces encased in shaker boxes. Her cards range from fun, flirty, bright and colourful, to romantic floral and uniquely masculine. Kathy teaches both adult and children’s classes and her down to earth, friendly nature enables her to put any student at ease, no matter how experienced (or otherwise) they may be. Kathy has a keen eye for papers and is the first person to ask for matching or unique embellishments. She can spot a matching ribbon or button a mile away and can always come up with 2 or 3 or more options to really enhance your scrapbooking pages.
Whether you are an experienced scrapper or an enthusiastic novice, Kathy will be sure to help you express your own individuality and creativity.

One day in 2003 I spotted a scrapbook magazine & discovered this amazing hobby.
What do I love about scrapbooking..? Scrapbooking is the perfect combination of art, photography, beautiful paper & glorious words. I can incorporate all the arts & crafts I love in one hobby. For me scrapbooking is full of love and compassion, friendships & sharing, fun & laughter.. Staying up late till the early hours scrapping with friends...creating works or art, HISTORY and leaving legacies for future generations. I love the freedom of creating my own ideas & self expression & the challenge of creating something new & different. The possibilities are endless... My books are a reflection of my life, my history, my family & friends... also who I was yesterday & who I am today. I couldn't ask for a better way to satisfy my need to create.
My style..? A classic style with attention to detail, meaningful journaling & the use of strong colours.
What is my favourite technique right now...? Definitely without a doubt.. STITCHING... and altering old books to use as journals.
My trademark...? Tags, quotes & beyond the page projects... Single photo pages with stitching, rows of brads & journaling.
One of the best things I have learned about myself since beginning scrapbooking is not to take myself so seriously. This craft has taught me how to have fun, to play, make a mess and go crazy... I remind myself if I make a "MISTAKE" I can always start again because after all it is really just paper and pictures & stories. Most times I discover something really marvellous from a so called "mistake"!.... CHEERS!
I love capturing the extraordinary and the ordinary on film. I am extremely happy when I am surrounded by photographs of the pople I love. I feel it is important to take photos of everything. Keep your eyes open for beautiful photographic opprtunities. You never know what you may find.! Scrapbooking has played a great part along my journey of healing since my precious son MARK was tragically killed in a motorcycle accident when he was 22 years of age. I dediocate each page to him and I honour his memory by living my life to the best of my ability. Happy Scrapping
